ALMOST one thousand residents of a rural street will be less isolated thanks to new letter-boxes the council has installed at last.
Over the last eight years a lot of homes have sprung up on La Alberquilla – a rural street in Las Lagunas, Mijas Costa – with an estimated 240 homes which until now had no postal service as they lacked boxes.
The council has now ended their postal isolation by building fitted boxes, allowing the 40 per cent of owners that are believed to live there to receive a regular service.

Why couldn’t the postie just put the letters in the boxes at the individual houses like they do the world over? Too lazy?!! This is a ridiculous system in Spain and offers no security.
