LILY, a university student’s guide dog, has died of kidney failure at the clinic where she spent weeks fighting for her life after allegedly being poisoned.
Her owner, 28-year-old Lourdes Fernandez, is convinced that the dog was poisoned and police continue to investigate the case.
As reported in EWN last week, the blind young woman and her family suspect that the black Labrador which Lions Club charity helped her get from the US was poisoned, as neighbours had complained about the dog and crumbs of chocolate and dried dog food were found in the area after she fell ill.
