THE Education department of Fuengirola Council has announced it will be providing €20,000 to local infant and primary schools to help with extra-curricular activities.
Education councillor Carmen Diaz explained that the council has been helping local schools with funds for many years, enabling them to organise schools trips and buy books for their libraries among other things.
One such recent trip was made by students from Syalis school to the town hall, where they met Mayor Ana Mula and pretended to run the town for a while.
There are a total of 11 public infant and primary schools in the town, with 5,475 students that will benefit from the funds.
