THE president of Getafe football club, Ángel Torres, rescinded the contracts of three players for alleged match-fixing offences in 2012, revealed a TV programme this week.
The Antena 3 programme ‘Espejo Público’ apparently gained access to the declarations that the La Liga president Javier Tebas had made to the police, in which he admitted that the Getafe president Ángel Torres had told him previously that the club had rescinded the contracts of three unnamed players, because he believed they were guilty of fixing matches.
The primary match that is currently under investigation is Getafe’s home meeting with Real Zaragoza on May 13 2012. All three players were released from the club in the season 2011-2012.
