ADANA’S ‘March March’ a great success

ANIMAL welfare charity ADANA is pleased to report the huge success of its ‘March March’ – a group dog walk fundraising event – and would like to thank everyone who took part.

The event received an overwhelming response from people wishing to volunteer to walk the charity’s canine residents.

Hard-working ADANA volunteers helped transport and walk 30 dogs through Estepona, enabling them to be seen by the general public.

Very positive comments on the dogs’ condition was received as awareness was raised on the good work done by the shelter, which has been operating now for 25 years, thanks to its volunteers.

Two hundred leaflets were distributed, promoting the benefits of pet neutering in the hope that eventually fewer animals will be abandoned.

One dog in particular, small and timid Pepsi, has extra reason to be thankful for the ‘March March.’ By pure good luck she was walked by a volunteer who was looking for a small, calm companion for her pet cat, and they bonded immediately, meaning Pepsi did not return to the shelter that night.

A total of €1,165 was raised, meaning everything to ADANA dogs as without fundraising events and donations the shelter would be unable to continue.

More good news is that several people offered their services as volunteers.

ADANA has pledged never to stop, as long as it receives donations and support from the public.
