The streets of Benidorm turned into a sea of green as hundreds descended on the town to celebrate Ireland’s National Day – St Patrick, which actually fell on Tuesday 17th March.
Well, the Guinness was certainly flowing as the event turned into a weekend celebration this year, with plenty of leprechauns running up and down Calle Gerona! Everyone went to great lengths to join in the party atmosphere, with green the colour of the day. Most bars decked out the terraces with flags, balloons and bunting, putting on special live entertainment for the crowds – and with the weather resembling a summer afternoon, the drinks were flowing and terraces quickly filled. By mid afternoon it was difficult to find a spare seat…. and partying went on into the early hours.
