A WOMAN is suspected by an Estepona judge of murdering her elderly, wheelchair-bound mother by pushing her down a flight of stairs.
Although the woman initially reported that a stairlift fault had caused her 88-year-old mother – who died days later in hospital – to be propelled down the stairs, investigators found gaps in her story and also discovered that there had been a fire at the elderly lady’s home just weeks beforehand, reportedly caused by a fallen candle.
Deeming that the daughter’s story and evidence did not match up, the judge decided the case would be one of murder, believing the accused could have killed her mother for financial reasons.
