Views of the partial solar eclipse were largely washed out in the southern coastal areas of Spain, with heavy cloud cover and rain.
Meanwhile people in parts of northern Europe and Scandinavia saw one of the most spectacular eclipses in recent years, with cloud cover breaking at the right time in many areas of the UK.
In central and northern Spain, the weather was reported to have been better for grabbing a look at this rare event.
