NEW life satisfaction studies have revealed how happy people feel with their lives in Spain and throughout the European Union.
The surveys, carried out by Eurostat, found that in Spain young people were generally slightly happier than older people. Men and woman were equally satisfied with their lives.
People in Spain had a slightly above average degree of satisfaction with their lives in comparison to other EU member states, with some of the least happy people living in Serbia, Greece and Portugal. The happiest nations, according to the survey, were the Scandinavian countries and Switzerland.
So what drives people happiness? Good health and not wealth apparently give the most satisfaction, with financial factors and working conditions being the next most important.
