THE future of a Berja businessman wanted in Poland for alleged fraud is currently in the hands of the National Courts in Madrid.
The 53-year-old businessman was arrested at the end of February upon visiting police headquarters in Almeria to renew his ID card. As soon as his information was typed into the computer system, alerts popped up informing that Poland had issued an extradition order for him.
The man, who is wanted for alleged involvement in financial fraud and the issuing of a €15 million bill of exchange, now awaits a decision from Madrid as to whether they will hand him over to Polish authorities for trial.
