Marcelo and Leo Messi in the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
BARCELONA won Sunday’s home game in an exciting 2-1 victory over Real Madrid, sending Barcelona four points clear at the top of the La Liga.
In a hard-fought and tense game, Barcelona scored first with a header from Jeremy Mathieu in the early part of the first half.
Madrid soon got into their stride and counterattacked, with Ronaldo just missing a header that bounced off the crossbar. Ronaldo didn’t miss a second opportunity, with an excellent, tight finish from Karim Benzema’s pass levelling the score before half time.
Madrid seemed like they were winning the game at half time, with Ronaldo taking another good shot at goal, saved by Claudio Bravo, and a goal by Gareth Bale that was disallowed due to a close offside decision.
The second half was dominated by Barcelona as they upped the pressure on the visiting team. After several missed opportunities, Barcelona finally capitalised with a beautifully controlled goal by Luis Suarez.
Madrid had little response after that and the evening celebrations belonged to the Catalan city.

Until pretty recently, I still had Chelsea written somewhere as a possible team to win la Liga. Now, with Suarez’s Barcelona coming out victorious against Chelsea, things seemed to have changed. Having a final with the Paris Saint Germain may be interesting. But, currently nothing appears to be set. Do you think that Barcelona could win?
