THE world’s largest cruise trade fair, Cruise Shipping, ended in Miami with great hopes for Malaga and the Costa del Sol.

Meetings between local representatives and top cruise companies confirmed that Malaga Port will see an increasing number of ships visiting in 2016 as companies including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara have included the area on more routes and will be launching new ships.

Pauline Plata, president of the Malaga Port authority, explained after the fair that American cruise passengers are choosing the Med for visits due to the current weakness of the euro against the dollar.
