WHEN the Guardia Civil arrested two young, Cuevas del Almanzora men, they found more than they bargained for.
The pair were initially detained for robbing two Vera and Cuevas del Almanzora properties where objects including a computer, cameras, a 22-calibre rifle, a dagger and silver coins said to be worth more than €1,000 had been taken.
But when the Guardia Civil followed their noses, their investigations soon linked them to another robbery, this time of a perfumery in El Ejido, which had been stripped of cosmetics and perfumes.
A search of the Palomares property where both suspects lived revealed goods from Vera and Cuevas and 624 items of perfume and makeup worth €32,000, believed to have been taken from the El Ejido shop.
The two are now charged with breaking and entering and illegal possession of firearms.
