VILLARICOS is a small fishing village in Almeria with centuries of history behind it, a very pleasant and peaceful place to be where you can taste the essence of Andalucia at the enchanting Restaurant Esperanza.

Antonio welcomes all to try some of the most exotic dishes taken from the beautiful sea you can look out on to. Because you can sit on the edge of the Mediterranean while you dine, the smell of the sea entangles with the aromatic smells that linger from the kitchen.

On a hot day it is a pleasure to sit and look out to sea with a cool breeze flowing in from every corner. The speciality dishes are seafood and fish with rice, with a large variety of others including lobster, octopus, or cuttlefish, all of which are freshly caught. Traditional Andalucian variations of pure virgin olive oil combine with crunchy green salads and vegetables bring together the light and warmth of different flavours. By night there is more to choose from on the extensive menu including traditional Gazpacho soup, Salmorejo, Paella and more for starters.

Main courses have a wide range to choose from including Seabass, Emperor, Hake, Chicken breast and Shrimp cakes. There are some very creative special dishes such as Cuajadera Octopus, Seafood Zarzuela, and best of the house Paellas. Such a feast of the sea, lovingly put together makes the food a privilege to taste. The desserts are a dream to try and with the bottle of wine and coffee included, the three courses are a steal at only €15.00 per person. The view of the Mediterranean is for free, which combined together creates an unforgettable experience. Antonio and his staff are eager to serve you as he prides himself on being known for the excellent food he continues to serve day in day out.
