SO far this year, the Motril Social Services department has helped more than 2,500 people.
The data for the first three months of 2015 was announced by head of the department, Angeles Lopez Cano, who explained that the number of people in need has multiplied if compared with those registered at the beginning of 2014.
“On the whole, the increase of people requesting our help has been generated by the precarious financial situation of many families, who have seen their income and quality of life drop with the crisis,” said Ms Lopez, who explained that these families turn to the town’s social services as their last resort.
