MORE than 6,000 visitors flocked to the new Pompidou Centre museum in Malaga City last weekend after its official opening.
The museum, the first branch of the prestigious Paris centre to be opened outside France, was officially launched by Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy and French Minister of Culture Fleur Pellerin on Saturday, March 28, and queues formed an hour before the doors were opened to the public at 4pm.
Housing pieces by artists including Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Frida Kahlo, Rene Magritte and Marc Chagall, the Pompidou aims to surprise with unexpected touches everywhere, including the bathrooms.
