Take a charming trip to taste wine from Hotel Tikar

IN this case, small is definitely charming, as Hotel Tikar offers only six junior suites with attention to charming being the key factor here.

Beatriz and Sean, the owners believe in offering all of the right things and in order to provide quality within each of the rooms.

All rooms have heating and air conditioning, wooden floors, crisp white linen and tea and coffee making facilities.

Set in the small fishing village of Garrucha makes this the perfect place to stay and take in the history of the surrounding area and also discover the uncrowded white beaches and coves.

Sean and Beatrice are very proud of the Restaurant Azul and you will see and taste why if you eat there.

All the dishes are lovingly prepared in small batches and quality and freshness is always present.

Antonio who is the local butcher makes sure all the meat is fresh daily and the restaurant also welcomes vegetarians who are well catered for.

In the heart of the hotel you will find a delightful wine shop where you can browse and find the perfect wine for that special occasion.

Not only can you find out about what events are on the horizon , but also ask about the ever popular olive oil and wine tasting trips.

This is an educational venture and begins at the Castillo de Tabernas olive oil mill where you can sample their ‘Oro del Desierto’ (Desert Gold).

Following that you take a short journey up the road to Bodega Perfer in Uleila del Campo to visit the winery to see how the wine is made.

After the presentation you can taste the wine accompanied by lunch at the bodega.

The trip includes transport, tours, tastings, and lunch for €37.50 per person.

Sean advises that you book early as spaces are limited on this popular tour.

The next trip is on April 6, so please reserve by tel 950 617 131 or email hoteltikar@hoteltikar.com
