21st century reaches Easter traditions

A GRANADA centre providing accident and injury prevention and recovery services to Holy Week throne-bearers has launched a mobile app to monitor the ‘costaleros’ on the go.

The Ceaco centre has decided it’s time to bring new technology under traditional thrones and launched an app to measure vital statistics including oxygen supply and bearers’ heartbeats, calorie consumption and blood pressure.

Centre coordinator Montserrat Altemir explained that the new system will keep track of how the bearers are holding up and detect possible problems quickly and efficiently.

The new app is just another example of how modern-day technology is finding its way into Easter traditions in the Andalucian city. Ceaco is already know for its internet service for throne-bearers all over the world, and uses a videogame designed by Nike to teach them safer methods to avoid injury.
