Five injured in three-vehicle accident in Santa Pola

AN accident in Santa Pola involving three cars has left five people injured, three of them seriously. The collision occurred just after 8pm Wednesday April 1 on the busy N-332 km90 near the lighthouse, reported the Centre for Emergency Coordination and Information (CICU).
The seriously injured were treated at the scene by SAMU paramedics before being transferred to hospital. A 62-year-old man suffered a broken knee. Two other men aged 53 and 58 sustained severe chest bruising.
A woman aged 41 was taken by the Red Cross to Elche’s General Hospital with whiplash and a 40-year-old man with an ankle injury was later treated at the IMED Hospital in Elche.
Guardia Civil traffic police are yet to determine the cause of the accident.
