NOVAK DJOKOVIC stamped his authority over Britain’s number one to win his fifth Miami open and his seventh consecutive match against Murray.

Djokovic extended his winning streak against Britain’s Andy Murray with a hard-fought victory in the gruelling heat of the Miami Open final 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 6-0.

Murray, who hasn’t beaten Djokovic since the 2013 Wimbledon final, told the crowd: “It has been a good start to the year for me so far. I’m not quite there where Novak is at, but I feel I am getting there. I just need to keep working hard.”

Miami’s Crandon Park is a regular training venue for Murray, as he and his fiancee Kim Sears have a house nearby. Their attentions this week will now be focused away from tennis as the couple prepare to tie the knot on Saturday.
