MORE than 120 animal rights campaigners took part in a relatively peaceful rally outside the bullring in Benidorm on Good Friday.
Activists arrived from across Spain to join in the protest where they held up placards to abolish bullfighting and collected signatures from passers-by in an attempt to bring an end to animal cruelty.
Many of the protestors painted the palms of their hands red to symbolise the blood on the hands of the matadors and spectators.
Representatives of several political parties, including Compromis Los Verdes, Codemos and IU as well as several animal associations also took part in the protest.
