A NEW park has been created in Rincon de la Victoria to improve quality of life for local people.
Parque Las Viñas, on Calle Limonero, covers an area of almost 20,000 square metres and was created with a budget of €90,000.
Plenty of plants, trees and bushes have been planted and paths created across the park, which boasts a central pond, fountains, three pergolas, benches, waste bins and solar-powered lighting.
Mayor Francisco Salado stressed the importance of providing parks to improve quality of life by giving locals an outdoor activity area.
Local children were encouraged to get involved in the creation of the park, and year four pupils from Manuel Laza Palacio primary school have been helping gardeners plant new greenery donated by Malaga Provincial Council.
