THE Caminito del Rey (King’s Walkway) in El Chorro, which had been open just 10 days, had to close on Tuesday, April 7, due to strong winds.
Malaga Provincial Council had warned before opening the spectacular walkway that the route would close on particularly windy days to avoid walkers being put at risk, particularly on the Ignacio Mena suspended bridge, one of the route’s main attractions.
While those already inside the park were allowed to continue but forbidden from crossing the bridge, those who had not yet entered were informed that they would be able to exchange their tickets for a date of their choice.
