Work on new fire station progresses in Almuñecar

WORK is progressing well on a much-needed new fire station in Almuñecar.

Granada Provincial Council has provided a budget of €600,000 for the new station, which is being built by the N-340 road, virtually in the centre of town.

The station, which will include offices, training rooms, a gymnasium, rest areas with kitchen, bathroom and lounge area, will meet the needs of the local brigade, which covers Almuñecar and surrounding areas.

Local mayor Trinidad Herrera stressed that the brigade is of vital importance for safety and said that the location of the new station is perfect as it is in the centre and has access to all areas.
