Bid for boxing history and Italian style

IF you are a fan of the ring, or just want a piece of sporting history, MABS cancer charity has a must-have item of boxing memorabilia for auction.

Thomas ‘The Hitman’ Hearns is an authentic boxing legend. He was the first man to win World Titles at five different weights.

MABS has a pair of autographed shorts – officially authenticated as genuine – from the man himself to auction at its Spring Gala.

And that’s not all. MABS also has an autographed fight card from The Pride of Wales, Joe Calzaghe, the longest reigning World Champion ever, who retired undefeated.

These are just two of the items on sale in the auction. An anonymous donor has kindly contributed a Dolce & Gabbana handbag.

EWN readers can get a headstart on the bidding by sending their bids to us at bids@euroweeklynews.com.

Please state clearly which lot you are bidding for (Hitman’s shorts, Calzaghe’s fight card or Dolce & Gabbana handbag), the amount bid and full contact details including phone number.

MABS operates from Benidorm to the Mar Menor, and is holding a major fund- raising Spring Ball in Benidorm to raise funds.

The charity offers free interpreting, care in the home, specialist equipment and family support during their time of need.

It has recently bought a Ford Transit van to use to both deliver equipment more quickly and to collect and deliver furniture from its shop in La Cala Finestrat and Muximeil.

The special one-off Spring Ball is on April 25, at 7.30pm for 8pm at the Marina Hotel, Benidorm, with welcome cocktails, a four-course meal plus music from Il Diva and other supporting acts.

The cost of the ball is €37.50 and the charity has also arranged reduced bed and breakfast accommodation for €30 per person.
