Dani Garcia invents with Marbella market produce

TWO Michelin starred Marbella chef Dani Garcia will be taking students to the market tomorrow, April 9, on a special course for both professional and amateur cooks.

Aiming to encourage use of local market produce, Garcia’s latest training course for 40 students, priced at €85 a head, will be landing at the municipal market in Marbella at 5pm, where the cooks will choose produce for the chef to improvise with.

Meat, fish, fruit and veg, anything goes at a challenging event, which the renowned chef told Europa Press was going to be complicated and risky but fun.

His motto ‘think local but cook global’ will be put to use to show how to create great food from market produce in a session aimed at all types of cook from professional chefs to amateurs and home cooks.

Garcia explained that the market is almost a second home to him, having grown accustomed to weekly Saturday visits with his parents as a child.

When asked if he had anything in mind to cook at the event, the chef replied that he had no idea and it would depend on the produce chosen.
