New dates available for El Chorro attraction

UPDATE: Although new dates were due to be available, users have reported repeated errors when trying to book tickets on the Caminito del Rey website.

Internet is proving to be the Achilles heel for the new attraction with ongoing problems from the day the booking site was launched, which according to Diario SUR has led Malaga Provincial Council to decide to cancel the contract with the website managers.

THOSE who missed out on the chance to visit the Camino del Rey in El Chorro will be pleased to know tickets for June, July, August and September are up for grabs.

The online booking site www.caminitodelrey.info is offering tickets for the summer months as of today, April 10.

Nine thousand people of 10 different nationalities have been to visit the spectacular mountain walkway since it was opened to the public on March 28, and Malaga Provincial Council expects more than 100,000 people to have done the walk by the end of September.

I am very disappointed at the poor management of some of our top tourist attractions. The latest -Camino del Rey, is still showing fully booked calenders for June – September, with no availability for October and on. Tour companies are block booking the free and then offering entrance as part of a paid package. Thes attractions should be available to all. the same complaints are being expressed for Nerja cabes and The Alhambra Palace. It is just not good enough.
