A TOTAL of 54 cruise ships have booked to stop off at Palma in April, marking the start of a full season.
The port of Palma has registered its first full season of bookings with the arrival of four large cruise ships with more than 12,000 tourists aboard on Tuesday. It is a huge event in the history of the port that marks the beginning of a year predicted to be record-breaking.
Among the ships in port were the Italian superliners MSC Magnifica, weighing in at nearly 140,000 tons, and the Costa Diadema, at 133,000 tons, as well as the Aidavita, at 69,000 tons, run by the British tour operator Landfall Island Cruises.
This week will also see the arrival of the super cruiser MSC Preziosa, which will be hosting a traditional ceremony marking its first visit to the port.
