Puppy kidnappers arrested

THREE men have been arrested for kidnapping a puppy and demanding a €300 ransom.

The owner of the Bull Terrier reported to the police that the puppy had been stolen and she had received a call demanding a ransom after posting pictures of the dog on the internet.

Police investigators from Pinos Puente asked to accompany the woman when she went to hand over the money and attempt to arrest the kidnappers.

One policeman pretended to be the woman’s husband and accompanied her while others followed at a distance.

The kidnappers demanded the money be placed on the bonnet of their car, at which point the policemen revealed themselves and managed to grab the dog and the cash while the three men, who were caught a few days later, escaped in a van.
