THE ball is in the council’s court regarding permissions to create a new Primark store at La Cañada shopping centre in Marbella.
Following worry recently expressed that the project, expected to create 200 new jobs, would fall through, the Junta de Andalucia regional government has given its approval for the extension works required to make space for the Irish store.
The Junta’s approval was the last report needed to allow the local planning department to issue permits for the work, which were requested last October.
Marbella Council now has three months to reach a final decision on whether to issue the permits or not.
