THE DGT Spanish traffic authorities are running a campaign this week to fight speeding.
Speed checks will be run until Sunday, April 19, and will be concentrating particularly on secondary and urban roads with officers working to ensure speed limits are respected.
Stretches of minor roads where speed limits are known to be ignored and accidents caused will be under the spotlight in an aim to reduce speeding and raise awareness of the dangers of not respecting the limits.
Almost 20 per cent of accidents with victims on Spanish roads in 2014 were caused by speeding.
