SPANISH police have stormed a house and shot dead an armed man who had wounded his daughter’s partner and two police officers.
A Guardia Civil spokesman told the Spanish press that an elite unit had stormed the house in the northeastern town of Ejea de los Caballeros early Thursday morning after trying to persuade the man to surrender.
He said the man, believed to be in his 70s, opened fire on the officers, wounding one, before being killed.
The spokesman said the man had been barricaded in his house for 12 hours after shooting at his daughter’s partner and another police officer Wednesday, and that the three wounded were not in serious condition.
