MALAGA’S Spanish Film Festival comes of age this year and there are 10 busy days of events ahead for culture-lovers.

The 18th edition of the festival starts today, April 17, and will run until April 26 with an impressive 178 Spanish language films and documentaries showing on screens in various parts of the city.

Open-air screenings, awards ceremonies, film presentations and concerts are planned for the event, which promises many a chance to spot Spanish stars about town for fans with time on their hands.

Free concerts at Muelle Uno on April 24 and 25 and a display on Calle Larios of pictures from filming sessions in the city over the last half of the 20th century are added attractions for city visitors.

The official festival concert will be held next Monday, April 20, at the Teatro Cervantes, with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Arturo Diez Boscovich concentrating on pieces by Bernardo Bonezzi.
