THE electricity transformer at the Carretera La Alqueria and Camino del Molino crossroads in Adra has gone.
Long, drawn-out negotiations were necessary before agreement could be reached between the town hall and power company Endesa, revealed Public Works councillor Ignacio Gines.
Now that the transformer has been moved at last in response to years of requests from residents, the site will be given a facelift with pavements and a resurfaced road.
Road safety in the immediate area will be much improved as visibility at this point will no longer be impaired for drivers or pedestrian in an area with busy traffic, the councillor said.
