THE paediatrics department of the Son Espases hospital in Palma carried out 91 airlifts and 174 transfers by road in 2014.
Most of these transfers were carried out due to breathing complications in children or the delivery of premature babies, according to the data released by the Balearic Islands Health Institute.
In total at the hospital, 29 road transfers and 42 airlifts have been carried out so far in 2015.
