FOURTY-FOUR migrants were rescued on Monday (April 20) 17 miles off the coast of Alboran Island and were taken to Motril Port.
Salvamento Maritimo (Spanish sea search and rescue team) explained that amongst the rescued were 33 men, seven women and four children, all of Sub-Saharan origin and in good health.
The migrants received medical treatment from Red Cross volunteers upon their arrival at the port.
