MARBELLA Council has given up trying to fix leaks and announced that the Camilo Jose Cela library on the lower floor of the market building will not be re-opened.
As waterproofing work proved insufficient and technicians have said they cannot guarantee more work would solve the building’s problems, the council has decided to replace it with two new libraries rather than continue throwing money at the old one.
Work, with a €880,000 budget, is due to start immediately on one centre on Plaza Victoria and another in the Trapiche Alto area.
