THE Olympic torch for the 11th edition of the Minijocs de la Marina Alta (the ‘mini-Olympics’) arrived on Thursday April 16 at Javea Town Hall.
A large group of local athletes participated, greeted by Javea mayor, José Chulvi, and the councillor for sports, Juan Luis Cardona, who said: “The Javea delegation is one of the largest and the only one that has competitors in all disciplines: football, basketball, swimming, tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, sailing, volleyball and paddle.
The Minijocs will be held in Denia from 15 to 17 May, involving around 1,500 participants from towns and villages throughout the region.
