THE job market in Malaga Province is still struggling, as a new report reveals unemployment went up in the first three months of the year.
The low season for tourism tends to result in unemployment figures going up in the area, and this year was no exception in spite of recently reported improvements.
The Active Population Survey has revealed that 10,800 people became unemployed during the first three months of 2015, in stark opposition to the national and Andalucian trend, which reported fewer people out of work.
Malaga was the province in Andalucia where unemployment increased the most, registering a total of 262,900 jobless people (a 4.3 per cent increase on figures from the previous quarter).
