A GERMAN woman died yesterday afternoon (April 22) after falling down a 10-metre embankment in Soller.
The 24-year-old is believed to have lost her balance and fallen while hiking in the Pas d’en Barona area.
Mallorca fire brigade and Guardia Civil officers were sent to the rescue and a helicopter called to airlift the badly injured woman to Son Espases hospital in Palma, where doctors worked for 45 minutes attempting to revive her to no avail.
This is the second death in the mountains in just one week as another German woman, aged 51, lost her life after falling in Cami dels Pintors, near Cala Deia, on April 15.
