Ebola health protocol activated

THE patient in Arenales del Sol who presented symptoms similar to Ebola has been discharged from hospital.

Ebola protocol was activated after the man presented symptoms including a cough and fever after it was revealed he had spent time recently in Sierra Leone, a country at risk of the spread of Ebola. He was moved to Valencia’s Hospital La Fe but has since been discharged after tests were negative for the disease.

The man has tested positive for malaria.

All personnel who were involved in treating and moving the man wore special protective suits as a precaution.
