THE mayor has demanded urgent attention for Sotogrande beach, which, although damage has put nearby homes at serious risk, has been left out of a €4.3 million government regeneration scheme.San Roque Mayor Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix expressed his surprise and disappointment that the town’s 16 kilometres of coast were not included in the scheme, and explained that an urgent letter had been sent to the Environmental Ministry insisting on the need for work in Sotogrande.“The beach is a serious risk as the sea has already reached the so-called Casas de Colores,” the mayor said, stressing that all areas in need should be treated equally.
