MIJAS Council will be accepting applications for summer school grants as of Monday, May 4.The Social Welfare department has put by €60,000 for low-income families who need to put their youngsters in summer school.“We don’t want any families in Mijas to be unable to pay for summer school for their children,” Councillor Carmen Marquez said, explaining that more than 300 families were given grants last year.Depending on financial circumstances, up to €90 will be provided towards places at municipal summer schools, which cost about €100.Those interested in applying can do so at the Mijas Council, La Cala or Las Lagunas council offices or the Social Services department on Calle Fermin until May 25.
