FIREFIGHTERS removed bee hives with 6,000 bees from a street in Alicante.
As part of a new action to save urban hives, eight others have already been extracted in the city so far this spring with the assistance of fire crews and bee keepers.
The Young Farmers Association (ASAJA) has signed an agreement with the city for the removal of swarms, warning that bees are decreasing as a result of drought, which in turn is raising the price of honey.
