ALMUÑECAR’S Citizen Safety Department has spent €23,000 on improving the local Fire Brigade’s equipment.“Apart from the important investment allocated for the construction of the town’s fire station, we thought it was necessary to improve helmets and boots that did not meet the standard safety requirements,” said head of the Citizen Safety Department, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya.In addition, the firefighters have been provided with jackets, trousers and t-shirts specially designed for tackling forest blazes.
