TOP seed Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer 6-4, 6-3, in their 39th meeting in the Internazionali BNL d’Italia final.Winning in straights with a confident display of his supremacy, Djokovic obviously took full advantage of his break from the Madrid tournament last week, to come back refreshed and stamp his authority on the game.Unfortunately for the Spanish star Carla Suarez, the women’s final on Rome’s famous clay court didn’t turn out the way she wished, as Russian third seed Maria Sharapova secured her third singles title at the Italian Open after coming from a set behind to beat her 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.
