English expat dies after being hit by lorry in Motril

AN ENGLISH resident of Nerja, whose name has not been released, has died today (May 20) after being run over by a lorry in Motril.
The fatal accident has taken place at around 11.30am in Calle Alonso Terron.
The 65-year-old woman was walking her dog when a lorry ran her over as it was reversing.
According to several witnesses, the woman fell down seconds before the lorry hit her, so it is possible that the driver did not notice her until the incident occurred.
Shortly after the incident, the emergency medical services, fire brigade and local police attended the scene and retrieved her body at around 12.38pm.
The lorry driver, who was visibly shaken by the incident, was taken to testify at the police station.
The victim’s dog was taken by municipal services.
