Jobs boost and water fun

THE Costa del Sol could get a 1,000 job boost and attract an extra 900,000 visitors every year, all in the name of splashing good fun.
Plans have been announced for a new water park, which is expected to create the extra jobs and attract even more visitors to one of Spain’s top tourist destinations. That has got to be good news for businesses all along the Costa del Sol.
With a planned opening in 2017 the park development has been put forward by Marbella Leisureland Investments for a 62,000-square-metre plot by the old Don Miguel hotel in Marbella and is to include 28 slides and attractions running a total of 4,000 metres.
Marbella Mayor Angeles Muñoz said that the new attraction would be a great boost to the city, and company representative Tarek Bukai explained that it was a unique project which would be promoted worldwide.
It will join present ‘aquaparks’ in Mijas and Torremolinos in giving a cooling oasis in the heat of the summer, while giving the region an economic boost.
