Elche film festival offers more prizes than ever

THE 38th International Independent Film Festival of Elche (FICIE), is to be held from July 17-23.
This year the value of the prizes has been increased and an unofficial Valencia short film section has been created.
Caja Mediterráneo Foundation unveiled the new edition, announcing that for the first time there would be awards to the best European and Latin American short film, and the overall short winner would be automatically short listed for the 30th edition of the Goya Awards 2016.
The registration for films to be entered in the competition is now open until June 30 and can be done via www.festivalcineelx.es
Films must be of a maximum duration of 25 minutes with national and international producers and filmmakers able to enter work made after January 1 2013, that has not been previously submitted to the festival.
President of the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, Matias Perez Such, noted that the festival “is the most important cultural initiative that the Foundation carries out every summer and has always had a great reception from audiences and critics, which encourages us to continue investing in the contest.”
Selected works will be shown in different projections on the Hort del Xocolater and the Arenales del Sol beach from July17-23 July before the winners will be announced.
Prizes range from €500-€3,000.
