THE Economy department of Madrid’s Government has recently published results of the first inspections of ‘dubious’ Energy Performance Certificates.
The information shows that 40 per cent of the cases to come under scrutiny were due to falsified documents in relation to the Energy Performance Certificate, 40 per cent revealed properties that didn’t have the obligatory EPC prepared in the process of marketing or leasing the property and 20 per cent were actions against the unqualified “technicians” that signed the documents, who did not meet the legal requirements to carry out the necessary surveys.
